Jared Ravizza, the suspect linked to this weekend's stabbings at a movie theater and a McDonald's in Massachusetts, also faces murder charges in Connecticut in the town of Deep River, authorities said Tuesday.

Ravizza was arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Tuesday on four charges related to Saturday night's McDonald's attack, including armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and causing a public nuisance.

Prosecutors have requested that 26-year-old Ravizza be held in custody without bail. The defendant is connected to another stabbing of four girls in a Braintree movie theater on Saturday. He also faces a murder charge in Connecticut.

Ravizza appeared in court for a second time on Tuesday afternoon. A doctor who examined the defendant's mental health said Ravizza had not demonstrated “the rational capacity” to cooperate with a defense attorney. The court then ordered Ravizza to be committed to Bridgewater State Hospital and ordered another evaluation.

Sean O'Neill, an attorney for Ravizza, said he had no comment at this time.

The victims at McDonald's and the cinema all suffered non-life-threatening injuries, authorities previously said.

Connecticut State Police announced Tuesday morning that Ravizza was being prosecuted for Murder in Deep River, also discovered on Saturday.

State police officers responding to a reported disturbance around 3:30 p.m. discovered a man named Bruce Feldman, 70, outside a home on Maritone Lane in Deep River, Connecticut State Police said in a news release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“During the initial investigation, officers received information indicating that a second individual, no longer at the scene, was present at the address earlier in the day,” the press release states. “The second individual was identified as Jared Ravizza.”

The investigation in Deep River is still ongoing, it said.

The other two attacks occurred later that evening, beginning around 6 p.m. Saturday at an AMC movie theater in Braintree, about 10 miles south of Boston.

“Without saying anything and without warning, (the attacker) suddenly attacked and stabbed the four young women. The attack appeared to be unprovoked,” Braintree police said in a news release, noting that the girls were taken to Boston hospitals.

The suspect then fled in what appeared to be a black SUV, police said. Authorities were able to capture the SUV's license plate number using video footage.

Shortly thereafter, “a vehicle matching the description was reportedly involved in a similar attack in Plymouth,” Braintree police said.

In that incident, reported about an hour after the movie theater attack, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were stabbed inside a McDonald's. Assistant District Attorney David Cutshall identified both victims as employees at Tuesday's arraignment and told the court that Ravizza allegedly drove into the restaurant's driveway in a black Porsche, got out of the vehicle and urinated in public.

Ravizza got into an “argument” with a male employee and then allegedly stabbed him in the forearm with “what looked like a long kitchen knife.” Cutshall said Ravizza parked the car, went inside and allegedly stabbed the female employee in the arm.

Both victims are in stable condition, Cutshall added.

Minutes later, Massachusetts state troopers identified the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver did not stop, state police previously said. A chase ensued and the vehicle eventually crashed in Sandwich, south of Plymouth.

The suspect describes himself as a philanthropist and entrepreneur

Meanwhile, more details about Ravizza's past are emerging, including the fact that the defendant was arrested last month in Martha's Vineyard on charges of assault on a family member and vandalism, according to court records in Edgartown District Court. The case has not yet been tried, according to the records.

Ravizza's father told police that Jared “simply had a nervous breakdown and attacked him in his home,” the Boston Globe reported, citing a police report submitted to the court.

The report also said Ravizza allegedly trashed the father's study, according to The Boston Globe. Ravizza was taken to Martha's Vineyard Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, but “did not meet standards for incarceration there,” the Boston Globe reported, citing the report.

According to Ravizza's social media pages and newspaper reports, Ravizza describes herself as a philanthropist, professional skier, entrepreneur and artist.

According to Ravizza's company website, Ravizza owns a digital marketing and social media management agency called “Ravizza Jones” that is registered in Massachusetts. The website describes the company as a “leading global digital marketing and social media management agency representing leading companies, brands and individuals in the digital media and online marketing space.”

Media outlets such as the Martha's Vineyard Times and SNOW Magazine have previously interviewed Ravizza, recalling her past philanthropy, activism and career as a professional skier.

In a 2021 article, the Martha Vineyard's Times described Ravizza as a professional skier who launched a global initiative as a “resource for people with autism, disabilities and illnesses,” and said Ravizza “works with adults and athletes, providing mentoring and exercise, among other services.”

“We spend a lot of time on the Vineyard in Massachusetts and I just want people to know how accessible I am,” Ravizza told the Martha Vineyard's Times in 2021.

“I also hope that this story inspires someone to start their own initiative…maybe you’re someone from the Vineyard and you want to start helping people,” Ravizza said.

The suspect's Instagram account also features several photos of Ravizza driving around in expensive cars, including a Porsche model that Ravizza allegedly drove from the AMC movie theater to McDonald's.
