We can look at the positive side of this for us American fans on waiting. Since

in part one and

in part 2, we will likely get both movies at once.

Therfore here in America

One is more likely to buy the merchandise and get licensors and copyright holders more of that sweet, sweet moolah.
The initial comment that seems to have gotten the thread worked up about who the franchise is for seems to be around who the series is aimed at, and as much as we may not like to think about it, at the end of the day the franchise exists solely to push sales. To do that optimally it's in PNP, Toei, etc.'s interest to cater to the greatest demographic that will spend the most.
Most straight men are not going to buy Jimmy Choo pumps or Samantha Vega bags (most gay guys aren't going to either. DAMN YOU LARGE FEET!), but by being willing to spend tens of thousands of JPY on collab items women in that age bracket have proven the best to target new additions to the franchise at. That doesn't mean guys can't enjoy it, it just means we don't get the all-star treatment on the merch front and that's okay. Not everything has to be explicitly for any one group to be enjoyed by someone in that group.

Yes. We would most likely get both movies and I would watch them back to back of course. I don't like Netflix but their little deal with Netflix works because people like me will get a subscription just to see Sailor Moon. I have no reason to watch anything else on Netflix. I can't remember how much it costs but it would be the same as purchasing a movie ticket I would assume.

I think they went up since the last time I had it for Eternal.

If the (quite misguided, for reasons I said above) intent was to appeal only to female viewers, original series had a funny way of showing it by having so many scenes of "fanservice" with female characters (p*nty shots, bikini swimsuits without any swimming (if they were swimming it would at least feel relevant and not there specifically for "fanservice"), even a few nude scenes, while, on my rewatch, I literally counted only one moment with a male character. On my rewatch last year I was quite shocked at so many scenes I didn't remember from last time, and you know those scenes have to be intended for the male viewers. Even the Dic dub is full of them, most of their censorship went into censoring LGBT.

I'd say maybe this is why Crystal had so few... but they did have a bit in Season 3 and Eternal (though to a lesser extent than original series, except the Amazoness Quartet), plus by this point we should be long past assuming any show is only for one gender, even if people intended it so in the past despite it appealing to both if it is good enough. It appeals to me in a few areas and is my favorite anime. (And I am definitely straight, or else I would not have been drawn to Winx Club, which is ironic if Iginio Straffi intended it for female viewers first and kinda proves my point. But again, my enjoyment of a show does not depend on that like Twilight with the Twihards, I had to be sure it was my kind of show first)

Where do people put Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood? It centers more around male characters, but it has death scenes (which seem bigger in animated shows with female protagonists, plus DBZ and Digimon), and the only "fanservice" scene is of Winry in the bath, and while they weren't subtle about it (using it as the commercial titlecard), just one is lower than even Crystal. Or MLP: FiM for that matter. You'd be hard pressed to find anything good that has absolutely none, except the Kirby games, they are unique in that way, completely lacking suggestive content (no, Clawroline does not count), but don't shy away from the dark villains and epic battles to the death with them, balancing this with beautiful level design and lighthearted songs.

No doubt with Netflix I am not a huge fan myself unlike my dad who loves it, however if we did not already have it I would get it just to see the movies and then be out. There are a few great things I can recommend if you get it for the movies, mostly anime movies and one series if it is on there still. Oh and another one. I think even though it went up it would cost less than a movie ticket because those things have gotten expensive.

Yeah Netflix has gone up quite a bit.

Hello @Jawshx . First of all thank you for sharing your impressions, I am so glad you could see the movie and are willing to comment and answer our questions.

You said earlier in this topic that Mercury, Jupiter, Mars and Venus battles were barely battles at all but, could you tell me if they got to use their attacks? We have seen their attacks in the trailers, without Galaxia bracelets, but if they don't use them in those battles, the only time they can use the attacks again are whey they are being used by Galaxia with the bracelets, so they trailers would be playing with us hahaha. Or maybe they used the attacks against Iron Mouse?

Also, maybe this has been asked before, but could you tell me if the transformations and/or speeches share a split screen like in the trailers?

So it does sound like it is following the manga then.

Part 2 will answer the rest of my questions. I can expect Sailor Galaxia, Chaos, Lethe, Nmenosyne, Chi, and Phi to get the same fates as in the manga and the Sailor Guardians to be revived, but I hope they either spare the cats or revive them.

I hope they don't censor Kakyu's death from the manga and that they added the supporting cast and family at the wedding scene.

There is a hint in the trailers that Kakyuu and Starlights will sacrifice themselves battling Phi and Chi.

If there is a release at all, some Netflix titles never got any outside Japan.
