  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (1) Pittsburgh Steelers: Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (2)
T.J. Watt’s return has bolstered Pittsburgh’s pass defense, but help is still needed at cornerback. Patrick Peterson was signed, but he’s obviously not a long-term answer. There are plenty of talented cornerbacks who will be available at this juncture.

The son of the former Steeler great is a 6-2 cornerback with high potential.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Christian Gonzalez/Brian Branch, DBs – Mike Tomlin really wants to fix his secondary.

    2. Broderick Jones/Darnell Wright, OTs – Meanwhile, the front office covets a left tackle.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (5) Detroit Lions: Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (6)
Charlie Campbell mocked Bijan Robinson to the Lions often throughout the pre-draft process, and it’s easy to see why. The Lions signed David Montgomery, but he’s a replacement for Jamaal Williams. Detroit wants a true home run hitter at the position, which was supposed to be D’Andre Swift, who hasn’t been able to stay healthy. Robinson is now off the board, but there’s another first-round running back who would be in strong consideration for this pick.

Jahmyr Gibbs is an instinctive back who runs with power and catches passes well.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB – Both running backs are in play at this pick.

    2. Jack Campbell, LB – This is a bit early for Jack Campbell, so perhaps the Lions would slide down a few spots. Still, Campbell would provide a huge boost to the linebacking corps.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (7) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Anton Harrison, OT, Oklahoma Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (8)
The Buccaneers have someone named Brandon Walton slated to be the starter. They’d be better off with Brandon Walsh at this point.

Anton Harrison has quality athleticism and quickness for a tackle.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Brian Branch, S – The Buccaneers could use a versatile defensive back like Brian Branch.

    2. Nolan Smith, DE/OLB – The Buccaneers brought in so many edge rushers for visits.

Pick change; previously Will Levis, QB
  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (9) Seattle Seahawks: Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (10)
The Seahawks need to strengthen their defensive line, but they can take a break and focus on their offense. Tyler Lockett is 31, so he won’t be around much longer. Seattle hasn’t possessed a talented third receiver in quite some time.

Zay Flowers is a small receiver, but can go the distance whenver he touches the ball.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Calijah Kancey/Mazi Smith, DTs – If the Seahawks went edge at No. 5, these defensive tackles would be in play at No. 20.

    2. Myles Murphy, DE – Tyler Lockett is 31, so the Seahawks need a No. 2 receiver for the future in addition to a No. 3 for the present.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (11) Los Angeles Chargers: Calijah Kancey, DT, Pittsburgh Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (12)
The Chargers need to put as much pressure on Patrick Mahomes as possible. They have great edge players, but need a force up the middle.

Calijah Kancey is a terrific athlete with huge upside, but he’s raw at the moment.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Quentin Johnson/Jordan Addison, WR – Some receivers for the Chargers to consider.

    2. Christian Gonzalez/Deonte Banks, CB – If Christian Gonzalez falls, as projected in this update, the Chargers could definitely consider him to help combat Patrick Mahomes. Deonte Banks makes sense as well.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (13) Baltimore Ravens: Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (14)
Everyone expects the Ravens to go with a receiver or a cornerback, which makes sense. Marcus Peters is gone, so Baltimore really needs help at corner if it hopes to contend with the Bengals.

Deonte Banks is a fluid cover cornerback with great size and agility, but lacks discipline.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Zay Flowers/Quentin Johnson/Jordan Addison, WRs – Other recievers for the Ravens to consider.

    2. Myles Murphy, DE – A replacement is needed for Calais Campbell.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (15) Minnesota Vikings: Jordan Addison, WR, USC Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (16)
The Vikings have a miserable secondary, but Brian Flores can coach up lesser players. Meanwhile, the receiving corps is very thin. If Justin Jefferson goes down, K.J. Osborn will be the No. 1 wideout.

Jordan Addison has game-breaking speed, and he had an incredible 2021 campaign with 17 touchdowns. He’s a major reason why Kenny Pickett was drafted in the first round.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Hendon Hooker, QB – New regimes mean new quarterbacks, and Kirk Cousins is entering the final year of his contract.

    2. Christian Gonzalez/Deonte Banks/Emmanuel Forbes, CBs – I’m sure Vikings fans clearly recall the terrible Giants receivers getting open easily in their playoff loss.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (17) Jacksonville Jaguars: Broderick Jones, OT/G, Georgia Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (18)
The Jaguars have issues on defense, but they lost Jawaan Taylor, so they have to find someone new to protect Trevor Lawrence.

Broderick Jones is a raw lineman who showed great upside at the combine.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Deonte Banks/Emmanuel Forbes, CBs – The Jaguars have a huge need at cornerback that must be addressed early.

    2. Mazi Smith/Bryan Bresee, DTs – Jacksonville could complement last year’s edge rusher with a defensive tackle to help collapse the pocket.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (19) New York Giants: Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (20)
The Giants would love a receiver, but the top four wideouts in this class are off the board. They could target a linebacker, given how thin they are at the position.

Scouts are smitten with Quentin Johnston, who has drawn comparisons to Julio Jones.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Trade Up – The Giants are desperate for one of the top four receivers, but they may not last until No. 25.

    2. Jack Campbell, LB – The Giants can finally obtain a solid linebacker if the receivers are gone.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (21) Dallas Cowboys: Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (22)
The Cowboys are deseprate for offensive play-makers. They traded for Brandin Cooks, but that’s not enough. They need to replace Dalton Schultz.

The next NFL tight end to come out of Notre Dame, Michael Mayer murdered opponents with high production over the middle of the field.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Dalton Kincaid/Darnell Washington, TEs – There’s a good chance the Cowboys go with a tight end in the first round to replace Dalton Schultz.

    2. Mazi Smith/Bryan Bresee, DTs – The Cowboys have a great edge rush, but they could stand to bolster the interior of the defensive line.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (23) Buffalo Bills: Joe Tippman, C/G, Wisconsin Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (24)
In Charlie’s mock draft, you can read about the Bills wanting to improve their play in the trenches. They signed some guards, but they can still use an upgrade at center.

Joe Tippman was great in pass protection and run blocking at Wisconsin. He can play both center and guard.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Trade Up – Buffalo’s Super Bowl window is wide open, so the team may decide to trade up for one of the top four receivers.

    2. O’Cyrus Torrence, G – The Bills can continue to bolster their offensive line with this alternate pick.

Pick change; previously Keeanu Benton, DT

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (25) Cincinnati Bengals: Lukas Van Ness, DE, Iowa Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (26)
The Bengals know that the road to the Super Bowl goes through the Chiefs and Bills. Thus, they need to be able to generate as much pressure on the opposing quarterback as possible.

Lukas Van Ness has a relentless motor, but is a bit raw. He was a great performer at the combine.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Michael Mayer, TE – The Bengals are not going to force a tight end pick, but they’d definitely consider Mayer.

    2. Emmanuel Forbes, CB – Cornerback is a strong possibility for the Bengals.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (27) New Orleans Saints: Myles Murphy, DE/DT, Clemson Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (28)
The Saints struggled to stop the pass last year. The pass rush was a disaster, and Cameron Jordan is only getting older. Marcus Davenport, meanwhile, is no longer with the team.

Myles Murphy has immense potential as a 3-4 defensive end in the NFL, but can also be a 4-3 edge.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Quentin Johnson, WR – The Saints need another receiver to go along with Chris Olave.

    2. Mazi Smith/Bryan Bresee, DTs – The Saints also lost David Onyemata this offseason.

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (29) Philadelphia Eagles: Matthew Bergeron, OT/G, Syracuse Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (30)
The Eagles need a guard to replace Isaac Seumalo because it doesn’t seem as though they’re comfortable with plugging Cam Jurgens into that spot. If they don’t draft Peter Skoronski at No. 10, they could obtain a guard at No. 30.

Matthew Bergeron played both tackle spots at Syracuse. He has quality size.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB – Like Bijan Robinson at No. 10, Jahmyr Gibbs at No. 30 gives the Eagles a better chance to win the Super Bowl this year.

    2. Tuli Tuipulotu/Keion White, DEs – If the Eagles eschew a pass rusher at No. 10, they could easily target one with this pick.

Pick change; previously Bryan Bresee, DT

  • Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (31) Kansas City Chiefs: O’Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida Round 1 – Picks 17-31 – WalterFootball (32)
Andy Reid loves bolstering the trenches. It should surprise no one if he drafts a mauler guard to help improve the blocking.

O’Cyrus Torrence is a huge interior blocker with surprising atleticism.

    *** OTHER 2023 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

    1. Anton Harrison/Jaelyn Duncan, OTs – Two tackle options, as the Chiefs need to replace a starter.

    2. Trade Up – Like the Bills, the Chiefs have a wide-open Super Bowl window, so they could pull the trigger on a trade for a top-four receiver.
